The Headland
The old town, surrounded by the sea on three sides. Stone and brick houses with walled yards. Walls give useful shelter, but salt and wind are constant, so we use composite and stainless fixings.
Seaton Carew
Seafront Victorian and Edwardian houses and newer homes behind. Front-line gardens catch the full force of easterly winds. Screens and glass balustrades are common.
West Park, Rift House and Fens
Large Edwardian houses near Ward Jackson Park with mature, sheltered gardens, and comfortable family homes in Rift House and Fens. Timber decks can work well here.
High Throston and Clavering
Modern estates on the north-west edge of town, with open gardens that can be windy. Decks tucked against the house with a screen often work best.
Wynyard Woods
Large detached homes among trees, with bigger plots and some slopes. Multi-level decks and glass balustrades are popular.
Hart, Elwick, Dalton Piercy and Greatham
Villages with cottages, farmhouses and larger homes looking across open countryside. Hedges and trees give shelter, and views are often the priority.
